Pursuit

There is something incredibly sexy about a man seeing past your defenses and breaking them down.  I loved this poem from a song I am performing with the choir I belong to (all women actually):

He was full of tenderness;
She was very hard.
And as much as she tried to stay thus,
Simply, and with no good reason,
Her took her into himself,
And set her down
in the softest, softest place.

Sigh...

  1. Aah, those are the best lyrics! LOL, how do you sing without getting all weepy?

  2. We are singing in Hebrew...grin...singing in a foreign language helps keep the real meaning of the words at bay a little bit, but you still need to think about them a little bit to make the music beautiful.

    I am having more trouble not crying when I sing "Where is love?" It hits pretty close to home with the lyrics...and the tough part is that I am doing the song out front with only the piano and me! I really hope I don't lose it when I perform it!

    Where is love?
    Does it fall from skies above?
    Is it underneath the willow tree
    That I've been dreaming of?
    Where is he?
    Who I close my eyes to see?
    Will I ever know the sweet "hello"
    That's only meant for me?
    Who can say where he may hide?
    Must I travel far and wide?
    'Til I am bedside the someone who
    I can mean something to ...
    Where...?
    Where is love?

    Every night I kneel and pray,
    let tomorrow be the day,
    When I am beside...the someone who
    I can mean...something to...
    Where?
    Where is love?
